Even National Donut Day, National Soup Day, lol...
Why not make a day that you Appreciate someone for what they do, like a National Local Hero Day....
Example: Housekeeping. They make sure that the area that you work in stays clean and presentable. They keep the restrooms clean. Since your mother doesn't work here, they even clean up your messes.
Applaud them, give them something nice, for what they do. It is not easy to have to clean up behind full grown adults that 'know better', because those same adults take them for granted.
Another Example: Security. If only you knew the stories they have to tell. If you are able to come and go to and from work without problems, Applaud them, they do a lot more than you think. Give them something nice. Just because they are not allowed to tell you what goes on at your workplace, doesn't mean it's not happening!
Police Officers. Patrolling your neighborhood, keeping a watchful eye on your homes and businesses, even in the middle of the night when most people are asleep. Applaud them.
Fireman. Often the first to arrive on the scene. Always there to Save your life, rescue someone or be a hero. Applaud them.
Nurses and Doctors. People who are not afraid of germs and are still willing to take care of you and your loved ones when you are injured or sick, often under miserable or what some would consider gross conditions. Applaud them.
Look around you. How many people are doing things behind the scenes that makes your life so much better, and these people often go unnoticed, unappreciated, and often underpaid.
A little recognition. A little appreciation. A Thank you gesture/gift.
These things go a long, long way. You might be the only person who ever said or did something nice for them.
Be Quick to Give Respect and Appreciation to those around you.
You will be surprised at the responses, and it will be very rewarding to you.
