No God?  None Good.

King James Bible Psalm chapter 14 verse 1

"A fool has said in his heart, there is no God.  They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

A practical meaning is that there are some that will say that God is not real, because he doesn't respond they way they think that he should, or because he doesn't stop horrible things from happening to innocent people.  They apparently have been taught some sort of fairy tale about us humans living in a magic kingdom of everything is good and God is supposed to stop all bad stuff from happening.  Not only is that NOT biblical, it is NOT biblical.

And since they don't believe and therefore don't live for God,the works they do (even the good works) don't give God any glory, so those actions are classified as 'abominable'!!  Remember that God created us to do good works and give him the glory, so anyone taking the credit for themselves is stealing credit from God!!

When you consider the people who don't believe in God, you won't find them giving God the Glory - because they don't believe, and this is why it says that 'none' of them are doing good.  Even their good actions aren't biblically good, because God is not getting any credit.  Might be real nice works, but no praise is going to God for it.

So consider what you do and make sure that you give honor and credit to God, because you wouldn't have any of the abilities or skills that you are used to, you wouldn't understand the deeper things of God, unless God had blessed you in the first place!  And please remember, serving God helps make everything better -even the bad stuff !!

Notes taken in Church

Here are some notes that I wrote down in church service:
  • without God's Spirit anointing your mind, the bible is just words.
  • when you can see and get an understanding of the overall Plan of God, you don't get afraid when things happen in the world because you see God's Word coming to pass as He predicted it would!  Wow!
  • Just because someone has a bible, carries a bible, or went to school to learn about the bible, does NOT mean that God supports or honors them.
  • satan's spirit comes to steal, kill and destroy.  It can do this by messing with your emotions and thoughts.
  • Guard your thoughts... 'is what I am hearing / looking at / doing going to get me ahead in life or bring me down and bring me shame or punishment?'
  • There can be preachers who are NOT put in the ministry by God, they lead a flock of people without God's Spirit being present there.  So when things happen in the church and to the members, people tend to blame God - but God was never involved with that church to start with... the preacher went to school to learn how to start and run a business - it was NEVER a calling!
  • Some ways to tell if your minister is called of God:  they don't pre-plan services.  they allow the Spirit of God to direct them - it tells them what to say, when to say it, when to shut up, when to encourage, when to correct or rebuke, when to pray for people, when to sing and worship.  This way everyone who God brings to church gets something from God that deals with their life.
  • You will often hear preaching that can upset you because it tells you that something you are thinking or doing is wrong and needs to be corrected!  This is what is mean by 'the word is sharper than any two edged sword going down to the marrow of the bone' - it goes deep, if I take correction and change then I get Blessed!
  • You never know what to expect.  Sometimes God uses things that might offend in order to bless.  Just like Jesus spitting on the ground and making mud to smear in a man's eyes - he used spit to restore the man's vision !!!  Sometimes lots of preaching, lots of music, lots of prayer and laying on of hands, lots of teaching, lots of spiritual experiences and sometimes a mix of all of it!!!  I have even been in services where God knew that everybody had a tough week, so the Spirit of God came in and brought laughter with it - causing everything to be super funny - and we all went out of church glowing with joy and happiness that carried over for several days because laughter truly IS a medicine!  You just never know.  God sees what each person is going thru and cares enough to make sure they get something from each service to help them on the journey.

Unexpected.  Life Changing.

11/18/2017

We can go through things in life that can set us back, unexpected things can happen.  Unexpected accidents have caused so many people to die, be paralyzed, lose a limb and never be the same.  All because someone lost control or got caught up in something and they were not paying attention.

This really happened to a friend of mine.
Get ready, here is a true story, in their own words.

"I did not go through life wishing that I can be involved in a car accident.  If someone were wishing that, it was not me.  God has kept me in good health all my life, I have taken that so much for granted.  Being able to tie your own shoes, able to get out of bed without help, being able to sit down and get back up, and able to bend over just because.  All this was no big deal to me, I never thought about it, I just did it.

I was NOT used to being in pain, having sore muscles everyday, or having to have help to get out of bed, to pick something up off the floor and the list of inconveniences that just goes on and on.  There are so many things that I see now, that I have taken for granted, like having good health.

Don't allow my mistakes to be yours.  Read, learn and laugh from it.  If only someone would have instructed me how to handle this, wrote a book or shared a testimony of what to expect.  I would have been aware of what to expect before it happened and what to do and what not to do!

I thought when people held a title (Example: Doctor) that they would do what is right.  Boy, was I deceived.  I assumed that because I told the truth they would do the same.  This is NOT what happened!  Several of the Dr's I went to, took my kindness and my trust in them and used it against me, and lied about my medical condition, just because.

Why would a person do such a thing? and why would they want to get revenge on me?  I never did anything to them.  I was only nice to them and she betrayed that trust.

...

I loved that car.  That car had heard so many stories of what happened on my job, and when it  made a certain sound, it let me know 'you need to get over that before you get home'.  This way I didn't ruin someone else's day when I was having a challenging day at work.  Or worse, I didn't want to start my morning off thinking about what happened the day before at work.

I always talked to that car about how my day went.  I named that car 'Jerri'.  That vehicle has taken me to work in the snow, the rain and in the ice.  God allowed Jerri to take me to work everyday safe, and bring me back safe.  Jerri was my 'anointed' machine.  'He' was ready for anything on that highway.  'His' job was to keep me safe.

When the accident happened, they took Jerri away from me, without a chance to say goodbye.  If only I knew where he was, I would love to get him back or say my final goodbyes.  This car was anointed by God for me.  God anointed that car to keep me safe."

Tune in for the next installment

Higher Thoughts, Higher Ways... what did you expect?

11/18/2017

Scripture tells us that God's thoughts are not like our thoughts, that his ways are much higher than our ways.

What this taught me is that God can't be expected to behave like we do, to think like we do.  After all, God's ways of thinking created an entire universe!

Our beloved creator has so much patience with human beings.  His loving mercy grants us the opportunity and the time to change our ways from the doing of wrong to the doing of right.

Respecting this wonderful opportunity, when we read or hear something preached that stirs us up, we should try and at least consider what we are hearing and don't get locked into something just because someone we loved and trusted said it, especially when when we can read it in the Bible for ourselves.  God's word at times demands that we change our thinking and our behavior.

God's ministers are going to be abnormal compared to everyone else.  When you think about Jeremiah, he was thrown in a pit of no. 2 and was kept there for several days because he told the people that God wasn't happy with the wrong that they were doing and punishment was coming.  He wasn't trying to please the people or get them to give some big offering.  And he certainly wasn't concerned with his appearance or the consequences of speaking God's words.  This is found in the King James Bible Jeremiah chapter 38 verse 6.

Then you have John the Baptist who told people constantly to repent, who stayed in the wilderness barely dressed and eating locusts and wild honey, who came out the  wilderness to baptize, who rebuked the preachers of that day (the Pharisees).  During his baptizing, Jesus came up and was baptized by him.  Jesus wore nicer clothes and would sometimes eat and drink with the sinners!

Neither one of them had a 'church' - they both walked from town to town preaching to a changing congregation!  No books or tape sales for those guys!  Neither one had nice suits, nice cars or bling on their wrist.  What they had was a 'calling' by God to speak HIS words and the relationship with the Lord to back that up.

If you are going to judge by appearance, it would deceive you, but what matters is the relationship they had with God.  It is that relationship that can heal you.

Is it your ministry preacher? or God's?

11/17/2017

Here is an example of how ministers can be falsely claiming to work for God.

If you see more pictures of the minister all over the church, on signs and billboards and worldly activities being advertised, but not as much about God or His Son Jesus, and bragging about themselves first, and then talking up God later.

The question becomes 'are they promoting themselves or God?'

The Bible makes it clear that church is for promoting Jesus and his Father, not the preacher.  Remember, man is NOT God and not able to save themselves let alone anyone else.  That God calls ministers to serve HIM, not themselves.  To direct people to God through Jesus and let God promote them - not doing it for themselves.
