Here is my Poem written on April 6th, 2014:
What Makes You Different
What makes you different then the next?
You took a chance and gave it your best.
You knew it was not going to be easy, from the start
You were determined to do what you had to do
No matter who laughed or said you were wasting your time,
The people you thought ‘should’ have been there for you, disappointed you
You just knew and you said secretly in your mind
This prize, this prize is worth me crying!
For the biggest battle you had to deal with, was you
Letting go of people and things you did not want to
What makes you different than the rest?
You took a chance and gave it your best
Now you are where most people want to be
When all you had to do from the beginning
Was get past the quiet voices that talk to me
